Blue Horse Equine Assisted Experiences
Step into the pasture. Slow down. Get curious. Through non-riding experiences with horses, we create opportunities for connection, reflection, healing, growth, and thriving.

Why the name Blue Horse?
Blue Horse Equine Therapy was named after the poem Blue Horses by Mary Oliver, inspired by the paintings of Franz Marc. In the poem, Oliver imagines stepping into a painting filled with blue horses—a moment that is both beautiful and transformative.
That image has long resonated with me because it reflects what I have experienced with horses throughout my life and professional work: horses have a remarkable capacity to help us see ourselves more clearly and reconnect with what matters most.
The color blue carries additional meaning within the Blue Horse Model. In some traditions, the Blue Buddha is known as the Medicine Buddha, representing the possibility of healing and transformation.
In much the same way, the Blue Horse serves as a reminder that healing often begins through awareness and embodiment. Horses invite us out of rumination and into direct experience. They bring us back to our breath, our bodies, our relationships, and the present moment.
