Types of Services

At Blue Horse, we offer non-riding, equine-assisted experiences designed to support healing, self-discovery, connection, and growth. Experiences take place on the ground, alongside horses, and may include mindfulness, creative activities, guided reflection, and interaction with horses at liberty.

You don’t need any previous experience with horses. You simply need to be willing to slow down, get curious, and see what you discover.

Individual Equine-Assisted Therapy

Individual sessions offer an experiential alternative—or complement—to traditional talk therapy. You may observe and interact with horses, engage in guided activities, practice mindfulness, and reflect on what emerges during the experience.

Our therapeutic work can support individuals navigating trauma and trauma-related concerns, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and other emotional or mental health challenges.

The Thriving Story

The Thriving Story is a personalized, three-hour equine-assisted experience that combines mindfulness, creative expression, reflection, and time with horses at liberty.

You begin by exploring your experiences and creating a visual representation of your story. You then spend time with the horses, noticing what happens within you and in your interactions with them. Finally, you return to your reflections and artwork to begin creating a new narrative—your Thriving Story.

You leave with your artwork, a written Thriving Story, and new insights and practices to support continued healing and growth.

Equine-Assisted Learning & Personal Growth

You don’t need a mental health diagnosis to benefit from working with horses.

These experiences are for people who want to understand themselves more deeply, strengthen self-awareness and resilience, reconnect with what matters to them, or explore what it means to thrive and flourish in their lives.

Sessions may incorporate mindfulness, interaction with horses, creative activities, movement, and guided reflection.

Groups, Teams & Families

Equine-assisted experiences can also be designed for groups—including families, friends, veterans, professional teams, and other groups who want to learn and grow together.

Experiences can focus on connection, communication, trust, leadership, collaboration, resilience, or simply creating a meaningful shared experience.

Because horses respond naturally and in the moment, working together around them can make patterns of communication and connection visible in ways that are difficult to access by simply sitting around a table and talking.
